Download and install VIPole on your device

VIPole is a cross-platform application running on Windows, Linux, Mac OS, Android and iPhone with data synchronization across laptops, tablets, and phones. Download VIPole for your device from the download page.

Installing and running VIPole on Windows

Download the installer of VIPole Desktop Client for Windows.
We recommend to temporarily disable your antivirus software to install the VIPole client.
Run the downloaded installer.
Accept the End User License Agreement in the installation wizard.
Choose the folder where the VIPole client will be installed. By default it is installed in your home directory.
After installing, launch VIPole client on your device.
Enter your login (VIPole ID) and your password that you used when you registered.
After authentication, you will see the security keys setup wizard. Follow the instructions in the wizard to generate your encryption keys and create your secret phrase.
After the secret phrase is set, you can start communicating in VIPole.
If you are using VIPole Professional, you will be prompted to enable the encrypted file storage on your computer. We recommend to use this option to keep your data encrypted and safe on your device.
When you complete installation and setup, do not forget to enable your antivirus software back again.

Installing and running VIPole on Mac OS

Download disk image with VIPole Desktop Client for Mac OS.
Open the downloaded disk image.
Drag and drop VIPole application to your Applications.
Run the VIPole application.
Enter your login (VIPole ID) and the password you used when you registered.
After authentication, you will see the security keys setup wizard. Follow the instructions in the wizard to generate your encryption keys and create your secret phrase.
After the secret phrase is set, you can start communicating in VIPole.
If you are using VIPole Professional, you will be prompted to enable the encrypted file storage on your computer. We recommend to use this option to keep your data encrypted and safe on your device.

Installing and running VIPole on Linux

Download the installer of VIPole Desktop Client for Linux depending on your platform: 32 bit or 64 bit.
Set permissions for the installer:
```
chmod u+x vipole.*.run
```
Run the downloaded installer:
```
./vipole*.run
```
Accept the End User License Agreement in the installation wizard.
Choose the folder where the VIPole client will be installed. By default it is installed in your home directory.
Add current user to group fuse:
```
sudo usermod --append --groups fuse 
```
Install PulseAudio (example for Ubuntu and Debian):
```
sudo apt-get install pulseaudio
```
Log off from your current Linux session and then log in back to apply new settings.
Run the VIPole client.
Enter your login (VIPole ID) and the password you used when you registered.
After your VIPole ID and password are accepted you will see the security keys and secrets setup wizard. Follow the instructions in the wizard.
After the secret phrase is set, you can start communicating in VIPole.
If you are using VIPole Professional, you will be prompted to enable the encrypted file storage on your computer. We recommend to use this option to keep your data encrypted and safe on your device.
